That’s because they’re hypnotic and almost put people into a trance like state, and when they’re hearing your stories they’re putting themselves in the story in their mind. If you have a newspaper laying around, even if it’s from last weekend and it’s Friday when you’re reading this, if you can find a way to tie a news story into your articles then you’ve hit a homerun.<span> </span>Need an example…well if you sell health products could you tie a sports story to that, or how about Dancing with the Stars? That’s hot about twice a year. Well dancing leads to health (products), and it’s also utilizing people who have never danced professionally before (motivation) and putting them against each other (friendly competition).<span> </span>You see how many angles you can get out of one silly show, and you can even turn that into a series of articles.</p>

<p>So the “buzzwords” of today is all about New Media Marketing. I thought I’d give some attention today to this topic and give my viewpoints</p>
<p><strong>Wikipedia defines New Media Marketing as follows:<br />
“New Media Marketing</strong><em> is a relatively new concept utilized by businesses in developing an online community,<span id="more-644"></span> which allows satisfied customers to congregate and extol the virtues of a particular brand. In most cases, the online community includes mechanisms such as blogs, podcasts, message boards, and product reviews, all of which contribute to a transparent forum to post praises, criticisms, questions, and suggestions.</em></p>
<div><em>One of the primary arguments to promote New Media Marketing is the premise that traditional advertising is losing its influence on consumers. Backed by statistical evidence demonstrating a growing trend of consumers making purchasing decisions off Internet research and referrals. These advocates strongly adhere to the notion that consumers are more inclined to believe feedback from like-minded peers than corporate marketing verbiage dispersed through traditional television, radio, direct mail, or newspaper advertising.</em></div>
<div><em>New Media Marketing is most effectively marketed by Internet-driven technology such as blogs,RSS,Web video productions, and podcasts.”</em></div>

<div><em>OK, let’s get real here…New Media, the internet, radio… frankly; any media is nothing more than a channel of communication, which is just a conduit through which content, and connection flow.</em></div>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></p>

I’d much rather have 2,000 people who are looking to join a network marketing opportunity come to my sites than people looking for a networking solution for their companies computer system.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>See the difference? </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">The key to getting targeted traffic is by <strong>use of keywords</strong>.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Keyword research is paramount to getting pinpoint targeted visitors to your site.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> <strong> </strong></span><strong>It’s like the difference between having a taco stand on a glacier in Alaska, or a taco stand on the highly trafficked corner of Sunset and Vine in Hollywood, CA.</strong><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Where do you think you’d sell more tacos?<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">   </span>That is unless Eskimos and polar bears eat tacos I guess.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>But you get the point. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">There are two primary ways to get traffic online.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span><strong>Free or Paid</strong>.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>That’s the main breakdown, but it goes even further than that.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>With paid search there is <strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="color: #0000ff;">PPC (pay-per-click) traffic</span> , </span></strong>there are banner ads, you can pay to simply place your ad on someone else’s website, there are ezine ads, solo-ads in ezines, co-registration, lead buying, etc.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Of those, <strong>pay per click is definitely the most popular</strong> and widely used, and when used correctly most effective. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">Of course <strong>free traffic is the best</strong> that there is in most people’s minds, especially if you’re just starting out. (There are those in the PPC world who would disagree with that notion though since they’re having huge great success with paid traffic).  </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;"><strong>Free types of traffic include;</strong> SEO traffic (search engine traffic), article marketing, traffic from signature files in forum posts, blog posts, and other places where you’re allowed to make comments, there’s social networking traffic, and then there’s also Joint venture and affiliate traffic (assuming that you have your own product with an affiliate program of course). </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></p>
