Strategy for Recruiting

Do you avoid talking to professionals about your Network Marketing business?

It always amazes me that new distributors will do everything they can to avoid talking to professionals about their network marketing business because they feel as though the industry will be beneath these people.

If you’re getting caught up in that trap then stop now, because you’re missing out on a huge opportunity to recruit some of the greatest people that will ever fill your downline organization.

First of all… if you’re embarrassed to be in network marketing then you should quit now.

Seriously – because the main activity in this business…is talking to people about this business.

Let me tell you why professionals are the ideal candidates …

A) Well…They’re professionals. They usually have a discipline and knowledge of business principals that will actually make them appreciate the network marketing business model even more so. Especially if they’re working 60 to 70 hours in their businesses like most professionals do – such as doctors, lawyers, accountants, CEO’s etc.

These are people who have been working their entire lives for someone else, and though they may have made some good money…they’re looking for some time to enjoy that freedom – while maintaining the opportunity to keep on earning a significant income that they’re used to.

B) They have money to invest into the business, as well as a budget to apply to marketing their business. Most understand as well that their business depends on marketing, and so they don’t balk at the price of placing ads, or paying for website traffic etc.

They’re also very used to budgeting a portion of money for advertising.

C) They have a built in credibility factor. People look up to professionals and have more respect for them…that’s just how it is. They also consider these people more influential…and therefore by focusing on recruiting professionals, your downline will grow even that much faster.

D) They have relationships with other professionals…need I say more?

If you’re stressing about talking to professionals then you’re very likely leaving a whole lifetime of riches on the table. A great many of the people in my downline are professionals in one way or another, some more successful than others. The fact is, most of them were seeking me out. Not even so much because of me (although it was a huge factor since I strategically marketed my business that way, but because of the opportunity I had to offer them…the opportunity for more time and freedom to spend with their families.

This is just the beginning on a series I’ll be doing on the topic of recruiting professionals. In the next article in the series, I’ll go on to profile some types of professionals to recruit, why I like them, how to find them, and how to market to them in ways most of your competition is avoiding…so be ready!

Life as we know it is an eternal journey….walking down this glorious pathway of life we experience so many things that can easily turn our heads away from the “pathway”.  But I believe that it’s of essential importance to constantly be growing ourselves…to be constantly improving oneself in every way possible…both on the outside as well as the inside.

Dr. Martin Luther King said “If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music, or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.”

So rather than looking at where you are today with any sense of skepticism or negativity, think about being a person who attracts only good into their lives and that each experience is part of your pathway of your life.  Striving for excellence is important because it builds character, integrity, professionalism and most of all your self-image and self-esteem.

Become your own Personal Brand of Excellence and focus on giving value to everyone you meet and everything you do in your life..

Like most good students in the MLM industry, we’re told by our sponsors and upline to make lists of our “warm market”. Our friends and family, our dry cleaners, our doctor, accountant, personal trainer, store clerks, waiters, local businessmen and women, everyone that “knows our names”.

Then we were told to get people on 3 way calls with our upline, go meet people at shopping malls, at seminars and events, go to expos and take a booth to display your products and company… talk to everyone within 3 feet who come in front of you.

Well, I don’t know about you and your success with doing that, but I can tell you after spending 20 years in this industry that most people get a lot of rejection and even family members who say “don’t ever call me again”… and sometimes even ruining friendships. PRESSURE, PRESSURE… yup, that’s the way that most people are taught to go build their MLM business.

Well folks, I’ve got news for you. THERE is a serious PROBLEM with the Old Methods…IF you are ONLY depending on that method to build your network. YES, I do believe that the old method can produce some really great potential prospects who can become leaders… but honestly, do you really believe that if you contacted and met with all of your friends and family (even neighbors you don’t know), and presented your business opportunity and products that you’d make a LARGE ANNUAL 6 FIGURE INCOME? GET A GRIP! The chances of that happening are SLIM to ZERO and SLIM just left town.

HOWEVER, I still believe that the OLD METHODS when combined with new world Technology and cutting edge strategies of MARKETING can achieve that LARGE ANNUAL 6 FIGURE INCOME. We have a unique paradigm shift that’s occurred in the MLM industry that was badly needed, and today the idea of “marketing” as in Network Marketing has never been clearer or simpler.

Marketing for any business is about being able to attract people to you…being attracted to whatever it is that you’re marketing. When you are clear about your “target market” and market to a specific market niche you can have success. Now, compare that to the “old traditional” methods where you are approaching and talking to people who are totally “untargeted” … you are praying that you’ll find some prospects that may have interest in what you’re marketing. What a difference in your business plan that can make, when you target those who WANT what you are offering.

To achieve good results, you need a clear marketing plan that is Laser focused to those people who are looking for an MLM business opportunity or the type of products you’re offering… having a targeted market in your sights will always create the best success in marketing.

The first thing you need to understand is that success is no mystery. Success is no “secret” locked up in some cave that you will never discover. In fact…the secret to success is so simple, so ‘in front of most people’s faces’, that they miss it completely.

What I’m about to share with you makes real sense. It will resonate in your heart, and in your mind, because it’s the absolute REAL information I have learned over the past 20 years. And if you take what I am about to share with you to heart…there is no way in heck you can’t create as much success as I’ve had, if not more.

So “what’s the secret”, you ask?

Donald Trump once said on the David Letterman Show that if he lost his fortune and had to start from scratch, he’d build a network marketing business.

As you can imagine, he received both boos and hisses from the audience. He responded to the boos with something to the effect of “That’s why I’m up here and you’re not.”

Robert Kiyosaki, wealthy businessman and best selling author of the Rich Dad, Poor Dad series and author of 18 books with sales totaling over 26 million copies, says that our schools teach us to either work for others or to be self-employed, which is in essence having a job. The amount you earn is determined by the amount of time you can work.

The path to financial freedom, he points out, is in another direction entirely. You need to have passive or residual income, and you can create this by becoming a big business owner.

So why don’t more people do this?

Most schools (including universities) are still teaching industry age thinking, that is they are preparing you for a job, self-employment or

running a small business.

Most of our families and peers are stuck in the 9-5 thinking.

If you’ve never been trained in the necessary skills, you’re headed for the school of hard knocks, and that can be pretty rough going.

This is why Kiyosaki recommends network marketing as one of the best paths to running a large, successful business.

In an article that he co-authored with Donald Trump, Kiyosaki writes that he meets many small-business owners who would like to expand but don’t have the necessary leadership skills. No one wants to follow them.

Forbes defines a big-business owner, the B-quadrant business owner Kiyosaki writes about, as a person who controls a business with

more than 500 employees.

As you can imagine, with a business this size LEADERSHIP skills are VITAL.

“Where can you find a business that will invest the time in your education, your personal development and building your own business? The answer is most network marketing businesses,” writes Kiyosaki (“Why We Recommend Network Marketing.”)

Building a big business is no easy task. Kiyosaki and I do the same for those I train, will ask…

Are you willing to go outside your comfort zone?

Are you willing to be led and willing to learn to lead?

Is there a very rich person inside you, ready to come out?

If the answer is “yes,” now it is your time.

Kiyosaki says if you answer yes, “Start looking for a network marketing business that has a great training program. I will focus less on the products or the compensation plans, and more on the education and personal development program the company offers.”

Are you ready to unleash the rich person you can be?

Follow this for a second; in just about every profession, when that person’s work efforts stop or end, the flow of income stops coming in.

Wow…every time I realize how fortunate I am to be part of this incredible network marketing industry that helps to create a continuous flow of income, I’m stupefied, I’m excited, I’m jumping for joy.  Because think of those folks who have a regular job and career or profession… when they stop working, guess what… you got it, their income DIES.

Here’s what I’m talking about:  When a doctor stops doctoring the money stops dead in its tracks!  When a lawyer stops lawyering, his income stops dead in its tracks!  When an accountant stops accounting, his income stops dead in its tracks!  When a plumber stops plumbing, his income stops dead in its tracks!  I think you’ve got the picture by now.

That’s right… in nearly every business, profession and industry, when the people stop working that ends the steam of income.  Therein lays the beauty of the MLM or Network Marketing Industry. 

When you begin in network marketing, a lot of basic building is necessary and of course those that are serious about immediately earning income will do the steps necessary which is a building process… as you build your teams and focus on driving recruiting and sales volume, you will begin to build your network and your income will continue to escalate.

The beginning process of about the first 4 months is a learning period, as in any business or industry…it’s like learning a trade or profession.  As your network organization matures and grows so will your “residual income”.  That means as you expand your foundation you will increase your stream of income which of course is WHY business and career professionals are taking a very serious look at the network marketing industry and are looking at it either becoming a secondary stream of income, or a replacement.

Professionals really like the financial security that the network marketing industry can bring to them… the idea of earning a residual income absolutely entices them.

To be successful in the network marketing industry requires commitment and patience. Remember, during the “learning stage” substantial incomes are not yet earned, and people often quit at this point…just moments before their network marketing career can go into the PROFIT ZONE where they can be well into the residual income they want to achieve and achieving the financial security it can bring them.

Remember this old adage…the rewards go to those with persistence and vision…patience is a virtue and pays big bucks to those who wait!
